Buzzing The Famous Elfin Forest – Del Dios Loop

This ride report is brought to you by Judy.

Oct 18th Elfin Forest/Del Dios ride

This week was one of the nicest Saturdays we’ve had in awhile. The sun was shining in Carlsbad early that morning. The temps were in the 70s.

A good turn out for a popular route!

The A and B groups were doing the same route.

With Jill leading the A’s, myself and Michell leading the B’s, and Kim Z leading the C’s, we basically rode together for the first part of the ride.

The split came on Harmony Grove. We started the lovely stretch of road that cyclists refer to as “Elfin” it’s Harmony Grove through Elfin Forest.

About halfway, Our Kim from the A group had a bee fly directly into her nose! She wasn’t allergic, but surely it hurt like a #%¥. She decided to go home. Thankfully, she has a lot of local friends who are more than willing to help.

A & B groups were still together on the San Elijo Hills.

In the meantime, we continued on the route. We took Del Dios to El Camino del Norte, and rode to Rancho Santa Fe

Once in Rancho Santa Fe , the group got smaller as Melissa and Tina turned off to ride home. The last of B group finished strong.

Beautiful Lake Wohlford (do you know there's almost a castle hiding above its shore?).
